My name is AJ Cecere and my dog’s name is Maverick. His name not only fits his personality but our life, not adapting to the norm and being an independent thinker. Just like a drone, something different but with a fantastic view point (pun intended).
As a FAA 107 certified unmanned pilot, Maverick is not only a rescue pup, he is my wingman on our quest to capture the best and slow down this fast paced world by documenting life’s special moments for others. It also brings me great joy to build life-long friendships with my clients and always exceed their expectations.
I grew up in Hershey but moved out of the area for college. Fast forward a few years to my professional life, I thrived in a successful corporate career in sports’ business and operations. After many years, I yearned for a change and moved back to PA to start assisting with weddings and events. I love the “big picture” aerial photos drones provide but to combine it with my passion of photography, and ability to tell stories for others; I instantly began the start of Maverick Drone Productions.
Having a passion for photography since college, I’ve always been intrigued about getting creative with my photos and showing various vantage points. Flying gives a fantastic view and has always been intriguing to me, seeing the great big world look so small. When I was studying abroad in Australia, I was on a very short flight to an island when the captain made an announcement that we going to be delayed for landing and had to change our flight pattern. While it may have been an unexpected inconvenience to others on the flight, it was a moment I will never forget. Our plane flew over the Great Barrier Reef and one of the top five beaches in the world that has sand as white as snow. I was genuinely astonished by the view from my window seat and how relatively close we were to these beautiful sights as I snapped photo after photo. (I have always loved the window seat and this moment did not disappoint!)
That memory will always stay with me because that is when I fell in love with the idea of aerial photography and the ability to capture photos or videos from an altitude that most of us do not experience. I love the “big picture” aerial photos drones provide but to combine it with my passion of photography, and ability to tell stories for others; it became the start of Maverick Drone Productions.
This business, to be frank, is an extension of who I am personally; my positive attitude, creativity, quirkiness and free spirit. My drone photos and videos as well as being able to have my dog join me in the day to day are a reflection of me and my passion to tell stories through my art.
